Dr. Leonard Brown graduated with honors from the Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio, in 1963. He earned his BA in biology from Fisk University in 1967. After completing his undergraduate studies, he worked for General Motors in their Production and Engineering Department. After several years of working, he was accepted at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1975. He worked as a General Dentist for one year prior to applying and being accepted in a prestigious post graduate orthodontic program in Washington, D.C. It was there that he earned his Certificate of Orthodontics from the Howard University School of Orthodontics. At Howard University, Dr. Brown obtained the “Outstanding Student Award” and graduated number one in his class. Dr. Brown is driven by his passion for excellence in all aspects of his live. Dr. Brown has been working and supporting himself since graduating from high school. His parents instilled good work ethics and the importance of education very early in his life.

Dr. Brown entered into practice in 1981 as an independent contractor working at the Orthodontic Treatment Center and the America Dental Group. His desire is to serve and help others achieve their maximum potential. This is demonstrated by his being an active participant in his home church where he serves as a Ministry Room Assistant. Dr. Brown also proudly serves on the Crescent Academy School Board in Southfield, Michigan. As a seated board member, he and other members are primarily responsible for making certain that the principal and staff are given all the help needed to efficiently operate and manage a charter school whose primary objective is to help disadvantaged urban school children perform well on national educational examinations and state school MEAP tests.  As a result of implementing some important changes to the school policy, the student performance scores have risen to become one of the top performing schools in the district. Dr. Brown enjoys interacting with his patients offering them advice on a wide range of topics when asked and also giving them verbal support when needed. He also likes to encourage others to look at some of the colleges and universities that he has attended for consideration of their educational needs.

Dr. Brown is married and has one son who is currently attending Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. On A personal note, he loves all aspects of photography, biking, motorcycling, and flying. He has been singing since before elementary school. For three and one half years, he travelled and sang with the Fisk Jubilee Singers.
